Weis adds tour stop in Kansas City

Kansas football coach Charlie Weis has added one more date to his multi-city tour.

Weis will appear at the Dubliner in Kansas City’s Power and Light District on June 27 for a happy hour event beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Weis recently completed a three-week tour that included stops in Dallas, Denver, Houston, Chicago and Topeka.

The Kansas softball team finished the regular season with a 12-3 win against Iowa State on Sunday at Ames, Iowa.

Redwine, Daniels earn Big 12 track honors

Kansas sprinter Paris Daniels was named the outstanding female performer of the year by the Big 12, and coach Stanley Redwine was recognized as women’s coach of the year after the Jayhawks claimed their first outdoor conference crown.

“I’m excited about this honor and very thankful for it,” Redwine said. “I’m more excited, though, about the fact that Paris was recognized. It’s great to have a Kansas athlete get an award like this and shows where we are as a program.”

KU tennis coach steps down

Kansas tennis coach Amy Hall-Holt has resigned to pursue other opportunities in athletic administration, the school announced Wednesday.

Hall-Holt spent 10 seasons as KU’s head coach and five as an assistant. The Jayhawks posted 10 or more victories in three of those seasons, with fifth place representing their best Big 12 finish. Three singles players and three doubles teams earned All-Big 12 recognition during her tenure.
