MANHATTAN — After a first half where only three players scored for Kansas State, the Wildcats were desperate for anyone to help carry the load for even short time periods.
In the eight games prior to K-State’s 64-62 win against South Dakota, names like Will Spradling, Wesley Iwundu or D.J. Johnson — to name a random few — took the reins for brief periods to steer the Wildcats in the right direction.

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) named coach Ray Bechard the Midwest Region coach of the year for a second consecutive season. Additionally, four Jayhawks were named to the all-region team, and freshman Tayler Soucie took regional freshman of the year honors.
