K-STATE VOLLEYBALL MATCH CANCELED:The K-State volleyball match against No. 25 Oklahoma scheduled for Wednesday in Ahearn Field House was canceled because of travel complications for Oklahoma from Norman to Manhattan. No makeup date has been announced.

EMPORIA STATE WOMEN WIN EXHIBITION: The Emporia State women’s basketball team got its season off to a good start Wednesday night, beating Central Methodist 94-37 in exhibition play.
Emporia State quarterback Brent Wilson completed 19 of 25 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Hornets to a 63-17 win over Southwest Baptist on Saturday in Emporia.

The national champion Kansas women’s track and field team earned 16 first-team All-America awards on Monday, as well as two second-team honors, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced. It’s the most featured by a women’s NCAA outdoors team this season. The KU men’s team had one first-teamer and six second-teamers.
Paris Daniels was a first-team All-American in three events, one of seven NCAA women to earn that distinction. The K-State men had three first-team selections, while the men and women each had one second-team All-America honoree.
KYNARD WINS THIRD BIG 12 OUTDOOR TITLE: Kansas State high jumper Erik Kynard won his third straight outdoor conference title on Saturday in Waco, Texas at the Big 12 Outdoor, when he won the men’s high jump with a clearance of 7 feet, 61/2 inches. No other student-athlete has won three Big 12 Outdoor men’s titles.
He locked in the win when he was the only jumper to clear 7-033/4. He would go on to clear two more bars after that before taking three attempts at 7-081/2 and narrowly missing.
KU’S GOODRICH SELECTED TO WOODEN AWARD MIDSEASON LIST: Kansas senior Angel Goodrich was one of 20 women’s basketball players selected to the Wooden award midseason top-20 list on Tuesday. The Big 12 leader in steals, Goodrich’s selection puts her as a frontrunner for selection to the national ballot of college basketball’s most prestigious award. Goodrich is second on the team in scoring (13.4 ppg) and has scored in double-digits 11 times, also leading the Jayhawks in assists and steals.
