KU women fall to Iowa State in Big 12 Tournament
DALLAS — Chelsea Poppens had 24 points and 14 rebounds and Hallie Christofferson added 23 points as Iowa State defeated Kansas 77-62 in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament on Saturday night.
Anna Prins scored 14 points for the second-seeded Cyclones (22-7), who play No. 3 Oklahoma in Sunday’s semifinals. The Sooners defeated No. 6 West Virginia 65-64 on Saturday.
Carolyn Davis had 17 points and Angel Goodrich 15 for the No. 7-seeded Jayhawks (18-13).
Lady Jayhawks defeat TCU
The KU Women’s basketball team win in their first game of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in Dallas. By Claire McInerny The second game of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship brought a lot of TCU fans to the American Airlines Center in Dallas, but they could not rally their team to beat the Jayhawks. KU defeated TCU 83-61 for the second time this week, after KU beat TCU earlier this week in Allen Field House. Kansas and TCU played in the second game of the first round of the Big 12 Tournament, and Kansas will go on to play No. 2 Iowa State tomorrow night in the second round.
